We are very excited to announce our June ASC Sydney Circle event, with a special guest speaker!

Vicki Larnach, composer, lyricist and music producer, has been active in the Australian music industry as a performer, educator and recording artist for over forty years. Having just completed eight years composing the score and lyrics for GOOD OMENS, a new musical based on the novel by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman, Vicki will speak about her experiences in writing for musical theatre, the intricacies of story telling and style within a large theatre piece, obtaining rights, constant rewriting, killing your darlings and sticking with your goals no matter what.

Her work has been described by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) as “very original and exciting for the listener.”

There will also be a Q&A section, plus as usual the second half of the night will be devoted to song critiques.

Register your song title by emailing ascsydneycircle@gmail.com by midday on Sunday 16th June (NB do not email the song itself).

You can play your song live (unamplified), or have a recorded version of your song on a device that has a headphone jack to plug into our speaker. Plus, bring 10-15 copies of your lyrics on the night.

Join us upstairs at The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel, 255 Darling Street, Balmain. We will be starting sharp at 7:30pm, so arrive slightly early (from 7pm) to chat, order a meal from downstairs, and be ready for things to kick off at 7.30pm!

This event is free for ASC Members. Guests can also attend their first two meetings for free, and casual attendance after that is $15.

ASC Sydney Circle meets on the 3rd Monday each month at
The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel, 255 Darling Street Balmain 2041.

Join us to develop your skills in the craft and business of songwriting, network and collaborate with other members, and be involved in this supportive and cherished songwriting community.

Songwriters of all music genres and all skill levels are welcome to join.

Free entry for ASC Members.

Non-members (casual) can attend their first two Circle meetings for free and pay $15 at the door to attend meetings after that.
