Our February workshop will be held just a few days after Valentine’s Day, so we’re taking the chance to run a practical songwriting workshop about love songs – with a twist! The challenge is to write a love song without the word ‘love’ in the title. This means you will be encouraged to come up with a fresh new approach to the topic.

It could be an in-love song, a looking-for-love song, an out-of-love song, an over-love song, or even an anti-love song, that doesn’t matter! Just so long as the title doesn’t have ‘love’ in it.

Led by our long-term member Linda Wood, the writing process will be based on a ‘song map’ approach, and will build on our two 2018 workshops that explored ‘song maps’ (although don’t worry, those are absolutely not a pre-requisite for attending!)

The second half of the night is for song critiques! Register your song by emailing ascsydneycircle@gmail.com by midday on Sunday 17th February.

Join us upstairs at The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel, 255 Darling Street, Balmain. We will be starting sharp at 7:30pm, so arrive slightly early (from 7pm) to chat, order a meal from downstairs, and be ready to get writing!
