*** THIS IS AN ONLINE EVENT***
Do you have unanswered questions about music industry systems and processes?
Have you struggled to find information on certain aspects of professional practice, relating to your music career?
Would you like to learn more about navigating Australian or international music industry frameworks, including common pitfalls and opportunities?
ASC is delighted to present this unique chance to connect with and learn from Australian artist, composer and seasoned music industry professional Nicholas Albanis.
Complementary to his ~10 years work contributed in the writer services team at APRA AMCOS, Nicholas has also served on grant assessment panels at the Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria and the Art Music Fund.
Nicholas is perfectly positioned to offer an insider perspective around music industry systems and processes which songwriters regularly encounter, as well as provide up-to-the-minute insights into such topics as:
• How to split credits when working with others (i.e. songwriting vs arranging)
• Publishing – including pitfalls introduced by the recent rise of online companies offering publishing options, and what to look out for
• Grants and other funding opportunities, and what makes a strong application
• What you need to do to ensure royalties come back to you
• Touring considerations and developments post-pandemic, both domestically and internationally – and strategies to begin touring internationally as an independent artist.
Do you have specific questions or focus areas? Let us know! To enable Nicholas to prepare thorough answers and tailor content that’s of greatest interest to attendees, we would ask you to please send any queries or specific content interests / requests ASAP c/o ASC’s Melbourne coordinator Genevieve Sovereign at ASCMelbourneCircle@gmail.com
Attendance is free for ASC Members and $15 for non-members (after two free visits as guests).
If you’ve never attended an ASC Circle before, we invite you to attend as our guest FOR FREE! Simply email Circle coordinator, Genevieve at email@example.com and ask for free entry. (Note: this invitation is only open to first and second-time visitors.)
Join us to develop your skills in the craft and business of songwriting, network and collaborate with other members, and be involved in this supportive and cherished songwriting community.
Songwriters of all music genres and all skill levels are welcome to join. However, the webinar link will only be sent to those officially registered.
