🥳 Happy 15th Birthday ASC Sydney Circle! 🥳
Join us for our Birthday event – a fantastic workshop with Naomi Crain plus Song Critiquing! We will be taking out customary Birthday Photo on the night so bring your party hat for a funny foto!
This month Naomi Crain will be running a Songwriters Toolkit night like no other. We’ll be unpacking one of the “best songs ever written” (Naomi’s words) – Whisky and You, written by Chris Stapleton and Lee Thomas Miller.
By deep diving into what’s happening in the lyrics of this song, we’ll be learning how these master songwriters have crafted their lyric to create maximum impact. We’ll see how they’ve applied some of the tools we’ve covered in past Songwriter Toolkit nights, and learn just how much work it takes to write a fantastic song.
For anyone who is striving to write, not just good songs, but great ones, this is a night not to be missed.
[Listen to the version by Chris Stapleton before the night, if you have a chance, on your chosen streaming service or at https://youtu.be/z2uPKDXS8BA?si=c67fE1uTY1zCKsUw ]
We should have time for some Song Critiquing in the second half of the night. In September, our conversation with Benn Gunn took up the entire session, so those people who registered a song critique for that night will be the first to be critiqued in October. For everyone else, don’t worry – if we run out of time for more submissions, we have an All Critiques All Night coming up in November!
Please note: Whether you want to go on the critique list or you wish to attend without presenting a song, you must still register to receive the Zoom link.
