Join us online for an incredible chance to learn from professional Australian songwriter Andrew Lowden, with a Q&A led by publisher Matthew Donlevy, and a listening session in the second half moderated by ASC Podcast host, Naomi Crain!
Please note two items:
1. For this particular month, a requirement of attending is that you will not take screenshots or photos of the zoom call. This has been specifically requested by a guest speaker.
2. The listening session is separate from our usual peer song critiques. Any songs that are on our ‘peer song critique’ list will carry over to the next ‘song critique’ session. Distinction: Peer song critique sessions = the song is played all the way through, and feedback is provided by anyone on the call who would like to contribute. Listening session = the first minute or so of the song is played (usually first verse & chorus) and then only the guest speaker/s provide feedback.
For this event, the registered songs will be sent to the guest speakers on the afternoon of Friday 15th May. The cut-off time for listening session registrations is therefore 9am Friday 15th May (although the maximum number of registrations may be exhausted prior to this). Songs are heard in order of submission. Submission of a song does not guarantee there will be time during the session for it to be heard. We expect to have time to hear ten songs on the night, but are allowing for fifteen to be registered in case there is extra time available. Song registrations are relinquished if the registrant does not attend the session.
Join us to develop your skills in the craft and business of songwriting, network and collaborate with other members, and be involved in this supportive and cherished songwriting community.
Songwriters of all music genres and all skill levels are welcome to join.
