Are you a songwriter or other creative interested in growing your business? Do you experience overwhelm, distraction, or feel like you work a lot but aren’t moving forward the way you’d like? Do you sometimes feel isolated, in need of support from others walking a similar path?

You know that being consistently creative and present in your business is vital for success but you find yourself struggling with focus and staying motivated on your own.

That’s what the ASC Mastermind Group is for.

The ASC Mastermind Group is a six month online program for songwriters and other creatives consisting of:

      • Accountability so you can track the progress you’re making, focus on the bigger picture, and continually commit to moving forward in a sustainable way.
      • Prioritisation of your goals and projects so each day you feel clear on how exactly the small tasks you accomplish create results over time.
      • Sharing ideas openly and finding solutions to tricky challenges that arise on the path, stimulating new thoughts, brainstorming, and learning from each other’s shared experiences.
      • Connecting regularly with a small group of like-minded people as an invaluable source of practical guidance and inspiration on what can be a lonely path for those working on their own.
      • Celebrating the small and large wins within a supportive and dedicated community who understand the challenges of growing a business intimately and planting seeds for lifelong, mutually supportive relationships.

The Format

1 x 3 hour meeting per month online

This is the groundwork that lays the foundations of accountability, connection and successfully identifying and moving forward on your business priorities. Each month for three hours, we’ll meet online to openly discuss our wins, challenges and set and commit to a specific goal to accomplish between meetings.

Each month, you’ll have dedicated time in the group to discuss and reflect on:

      1. Your wins, achievements and things you’re really proud of from the previous month
      2. Any challenges or issues you may be experiencing
      3. Brainstorming solutions, bouncing ideas around and learning from other group members about how they dealt with similar challenges
      4. Getting clear on one goal you’d like to achieve in the next month - perhaps one that arose from the discussion itself or something else you’re working on.

1 x 30 minute check in with a small group of accountability mates per month

Each month you’ll check in with your accountability mates about how you’re going, what you’re noticing, what’s working/not working, recommit to your goal or adjust it as necessary. The small group check ins are vital to continue to clarify and commit to the vision you’re building in your creative business. These meetups are an opportunity to be honest with yourself about your progress and deepen and develop relationships over the six months of the mastermind group.

Weekly 2 hour online co-working session

A dedicated drop-in, co-working online space to focus on all those pesky tasks you’ve been putting off. That annoying email you need to write… the out-of-date bio you’ve been avoiding editing… the application for that festival or grant you really want… that phone call you don’t want to make… This is a focused space for you to clear your desk, knuckle down, get it done and off your to do list so you can do the work you really want to do. Simply join the co-working session over zoom each Thursday/Friday 9.00am - 11.00am. There’ll be ultra focused timed work sessions, loo breaks and chats around the virtual water cooler.

Dedicated online forum

As a Mastermind Group member you’ll have access to a private online forum in the ASC Academy Hub (not on social media) to connect with your fellow participants, share ideas, start conversations, ask questions and access the online learning materials.

Monthly songwriting challenge

The work of business is immense and consuming and it can be easy to lose connection with your creative practice and maintain work/life balance. Throughout the duration of the Mastermind Group, you’ll receive one songwriting prompt a month to get you back to your instrument or lyric notebook to remind you why you do what you do, enriching and recharging your creative batteries. At the end of each month, you can upload and share your new song with the group via the online forum.

If you’re a songwriter or other creative interested in growing your business in an authentic and grounded way, the ASC Mastermind group will connect you with a supportive community and a clear structure of accountability……

About your Facilitator

Mira Chorik is a songwriter who makes art. Her melancholy folk layers bitter-sweet poetry and warm-honey vocals to tell an unadorned story of the heart. She crafts live performance spaces that invite participation, emotional intimacy and audience connection. Mira is also a facilitator with a bunch of experience: running workshops at retreats and community development conferences; facilitating meaningful conversations in Council settings through participatory artmaking; developing online and face-to-face courses in authentic business practices; holding singing groups; yoga and meditation teaching, community theatre work; and facilitating small and large group processes (70+ people) at loads of retreats over a decade. She hosts the Sunshine Coast Songwriters Roundtable, now in its sixth year - a supportive space devoted to helping songwriters understand their unique voice and who they are as artists.
