Event Assistant

The Australian Songwriters Conference is seeking an Event Assistant to join our team for the June 2018 event.

This is a busy and energetic, voluntary role that includes some pre-event admin (mostly computer work, email and some phone calls).  During the conference the event assistant’s role is varied. Assisting our Event Coordinator and working in our event team, tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting at the Registration/Information Desk and ensuring that delegates receive the correct lanyards, programs and conference kits
  • Assisting delegates with their questions and song pitching submissions
  • Selling ASC merchandise via the Registration Desk
  • Setting up and rearranging the seminar space and break out areas according to activity needs
  • Keeping the event spaces clean and tidy (including the tea and coffee area)
  • Running errands for the Event Coordinator
  • Assisting with the private Faculty functions that are held during the event
  • Assisting Publishers during the song pitching sessions
  • Other tasks as required.

Event Assistants are covered under our event insurance and meals and accommodation at the venue is covered by the Australian Songwriters Conference for the duration of the event (Thursday 7th to Monday 11th June 2018).  Event assistants must remain at the event during these dates and be available at all times.

PLEASE NOTE: Although there are times when event assistants can take part in activities, and will often cover each other’s roles to do so, its not a suitable role for music creators wanting to fully immerse themselves in all the Conference activities.
